This map of UNG Gainesville Campus Parking showcases the layout of parking facilities, roads, and essential amenities, providing guidance for visitors and students navigating the campus.
Creation Process:
The map was created using ArcGIS Pro, involving the georeferencing of a scanned campus map to align it with real-world coordinates. Georeferencing was performed using control points that linked known positions on the raster image to spatial data within the map’s projected coordinate system, NAD83_Georgia_West_ftUS.
Layers representing buildings, parking lots, shuttle stops, trails, and call boxes were added and symbolized based on their specific functions, enhancing the map’s usability for campus navigation.
Visual Details:
The map highlights various parking options, including visitor parking, road/parking lots, and electric vehicle charging stations, with distinct colors and symbols for easy identification.
Shuttle stops and call boxes are clearly marked, providing critical information for campus safety and transportation.
A legend, scale bar, and north arrow aid in orientation and understanding, making the map an effective tool for navigating the UNG Gainesville campus.
