Chorpleth Map

Creation Process:

• The map was created using ArcGIS Pro, utilizing tax rate data sourced from the Georgia Department of Labor. County boundaries were mapped using data layers, and each county was symbolized according to its corresponding sales tax rate.

• Tax rate values were classified into distinct categories and color-coded, ranging from 6% to 8%, allowing for a clear visual comparison of rates across the state.

Visual Details:

• The counties are color-coded with shades representing different tax rates: light beige for 6%, pink for 7%, orange for 7.75%, and dark brown for 8%.

• A legend provides a clear guide to the tax rates, and the map includes a north arrow and scale bar for orientation.

• The background map provides geographic context, with major cities and state borders labeled, enhancing the interpretability of tax rate distribution across Georgia.
